Jon & Louise, Dissington Hall, Northumberland.
Jon & Louise travelled up from Scunthorpe to get married at Dissington Hall. The ceremony was held inside the Country house. The weather was a challenge, a mixture of heavy showers, cold wind, and then beautiful blue skies. After the ceremony I managed to photograph most of the group shots inside Dissington Hall, but I was determind to dodge the showers and get some stunning photographs of Jon & Louise outside in the beautiful gardens. This really paid off as I was able to photograph the happy couple with the stunning landscape in the background. Afterwards, Jon & Louise were joined by their guest in the exquisite marquee for their wedding breakfast.
Chris & Karen, Dalston Hall,
Another glorious sunny day and another fantastic venue. Dalston Hall is simply beautiful. Chris arrived to to the theme from Thunderbirds, while Karen walked down the aisle with her Father to Pachelbel Canon in D. The ceremony was held in the stunning Gazebo.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks on the lawn, this gave me a chance to photograph Chris and Karen away from the crowds and also for the Bride and Groom to enjoy a quiet stroll in the garden.
Both Chris and Karen looked so happy and in love and this really showed in the photographs.
Gary & Susan, Langley Castle,
Gary & Susan chose the stunning Langley Castle to celebrate their marriage. The weather was glorious so the ceremony was held outside in the Gazebo followed by drinks on the lawn.
I love Langley Castle, there are so many amazing places to photograph the Bride and Groom. A combination of stunning blue sky and the castle in the background gave some fantastic photographs for the Bride and Groom to cherish.
Kevin & Nikki Hope, Greenhill Hotel, Wigton.
Kevin & Nikki chose an intimate ceremony at the Greenhill Hotel, Wigton. Surrounded by close family and friends the day oozed warmth and happiness. Even though the weather started off badly, the sun came out and I captured some lovely photographs of Kevin & Nikki and their guests. The winding staircase also offered some great opportunities to get some intimate shots of the Bride & Groom. Kevin & Nikki were joined in the evening by 120 guests for a ceilidh and a disco.
Michael & Imogene. Abbey House Hotel, Barrow.
Well, it was a long trip down to Barrow but it was worth. I started the day at Imogenes’ house photographing the preparations of Imogene and her Bridesmaids. Next for the short journey (the next street!) to the beautiful St James Church on Blake Street. There I met up with Michael and his Groomsmen. Michael was dressed in his Navy uniform along with some of his Navy friends. The weather was really hot again so I was able to take advantage and get a good mix of photographs both inside and outside the church.
Then it was off to the old Abbey ruins just behind the Abbey House Hotel. Imogene and Michael were able to spend a short time together away from their guests. I was able to get some lovelly shots with the old Abbey in the background. The reception was held in the stunning Abbey House Hotel, after the group shots I took the opportunity to photograph some more relaxed shots of Imogene and Michael in the huge, beautiful gardens. The sun was shining, the location was beautiful, what a perfect day for a lovelly couple.
Gareth & Corrina, Arthuret Church, Longtown
It was a cold autum day, but this didn’t stop Gareth & Corrina enjoying a fantastic day. The ceremony was at the beautiful Arthuret Church just outside of Longtown. The Vicar, well he has got to be the funniest I’ve ever met. After the ceremony Gareth & Corrina were joined by their family and friends at the Tythe Barn in Carlisle.
Anthony & Helen. Our Lady & St Michaels Church, Workington. Hunday Manor Hotel.
The ceremony was held at Our Lady & St Michaels RC church in Workington followed by the reception at the Hunday Manor Hotel.
I started out photographing Dawn and her Bridesmaids at the Crown & Mitre Hotel in Carlisle. Dawn wore a stunning Pink Cosmobella dress with crystal detail from Country Dreams in Carlisle.
I chose to use St Cuthberts Church grounds to photograph Edward and his two Bestmen, John and Stuart. It was great to meet up with the guys again as I’d had the pleasure of photographing Johns wedding a couple of years ago where Edward was the Bestman.
After the ceremony Dawn and Edward enjoyed afternoon tea with their guests.
Neil & Hannah Burns, Crown Hotel Wetheral.
The day began at Hannah’s house. All the Bridesmaids were there to give Hannah a helping hand getting ready so this gave me a great chance to photograph all the dresses and the Brides preparations. Then it was off to Our Lady & St Josephs Church in Carlisle to meet up with Neil & his Groomsmen. Neil was so calm and couldn’t wait for Hannah to arrive. I captured some great shots of the Bride & Groom during the ceremony, Our Lady & St Josephs Church is such a beautiful and friendly church.
Then it was off to the Crown Hotel Wetheral, heavy showers were forecast but the weather held out with the sun breaking through the clouds to give some beautiful skies. I took this opportunity to get some stunning shots down on the banks of the River Eden, and then on to the beautiful gardens in the Crown Hotel.
Well, I’m off to Barrow in Furness next to photograph Imogene & Michael at the Abbey House Hotel.
Lee & Jennifer. Dalston Hall.
Living in Staffordshire, Lee & Jennifer returned to their home town of Carlisle and chose the stunning Dalston Hall to celebrate their wedding with their family and friends. Jennifers parents had flown in form Bermuda earlier in the week and the weather must have felt like they were still there.
Both Jennifer and Lee were a little nervous before the ceremony, but once they had exchanged their vows they really started to relax and enjoy themselves and this showed in the photographs.
